The UV Treatment Process

Ultraviolet (UV) treatment is a quick physical process that involves the mutation and degrading of DNA (or deoxyribonucleic acid). DNA is a component of a cell that carries important genetic information. This information serves as instructions for organisms to be able to function and reproduce correctly. Any damage in the DNA affects the organism's ability to function as the "instructions" become impaired. When this happens, the organism's ability to function and reproduce will be affected. Thus, it will be rendered harmless, and its death becomes inevitable.

A stainless-steel chamber containing a UV lamp is where water runs through as it gets disinfected. During the process, the stainless-steel chamber (referred to as the "reactor") is where water is purified. A lethal dose of UV is what purifies the microbes found in the water. This is the process that allows the water to become safe for drinking. The level of UV energy needed for the process is dependent on the type of organism. Thus, the level of UV energy (also called the "UV dose") to be utilized is varied for different kinds of organisms.

The ultraviolet disinfection system (UV system) is a rather complex structure. Aside from being free from chemicals, it's proven to be highly effective in eliminating water with microbiological contaminants. Call Eagle Water Corp today.
